LINTD (Life Is Never That Deep) is the solo project of Nigerian born musician, composer, producer and filmmaker Iyunoluwanimi Yemi-Shodimu. For the past 4 years, under the aliases GOMID, SMOOCH SOUNDSYSTEM, and FEED, he has cemented himself as a reliable cultural producer of the black extraordinary and collaborated with vanguards of the Northern experimental scene such as Space Afrika, 96 Back, Iceboy Violet, Balraj Samrai (Swing Ting), and Porter Brook. Through music, films, live events, installation and research, LINTD speculate worlds where the marginalized feel comfortable to be their full, emancipated selves. Often, these worlds are spectacular, always they are true.
For Manchester Independents 2025 LINTD will present The Black Impossible, an 80-minute, musical, body movement, and body music performance accompanied by a live A/V. The Black Impossible is a live exploration of tangible, yet unimaginably volatile moments of pro-black utopia in 3 albums worth of music, existing as distinct acts of music, representing the black utopias that manifest on the sonic extremes of our current anti-black reality. LINTD presents The Black Impossible, starring Porter Brook, Imani Jendai, Fyn Dobson, Tibyan Sanoh and LINTD.
